Above and below are 2 photos we think truly show off the amazing group of people we had the pleasure of photographing on July 4th. Donna called me early the month before and informed me this was the only time they had to have the whole family together since they had family in all the way from Canada. Mom is 80 and her had 10 children that all created their own families. We had a total of 51 people to photograph on this hot and humid St. Louis July day and the backyard did not have much shade. Donna and her sister were on it with big industrial fans outside for everyone, offering water to everyone and even had a shot list made up on a big white board. They were all troopers and we got the session done in under 2 hours. We had great time photographing this large family and look forward to seeing them all again in the future.
A sneak peek of the Jackson wedding in Aviston, IL at the Hidden Lake Winery venue. This was such a beautiful place with a lovely little pond. We also liked the ivy growing all over the outside of the deck awning. Breana and Josh are such a fun and loving couple as you can see from their photos. The ceremony was originally planned for outside but since the heat index was well above 100 degrees they decided to move it inside. The area where the ceremony was held had huge windows that let in plenty of light and made it quite neat looking. Breana and Josh have 2 matching Golden Retriever dogs that were incorporated into the ceremony as well. For the reception, the couple had a choreographed first dance that was very enjoyable and upbeat. Breana and her dad also had a choreographed dance together that started slow and then, all of a sudden, they broke out into a bunch of different fun dances and clips of different music for each. Those dances really helped get the dance floor packed when the DJ finally opened it after all the specialty dances. I think the crowd was ready to show off their best and worst dance moves. Breana and Josh had quite a few children at the wedding and made sure to incorporate them into the bouquet and garter tosses by tossing a stuffed animal for the girls and a jersey for the boys. They ended the night with floating lanterns over the pond which set the tone on a romantic evening. We had an amazing time photographing Breana and Josh’s wedding. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and love. Congratulations and Best Wishes! Wedding Theme: Colorful, purple and aqua Caterer: Hidden Lake Winery DJ: Complete Weddings Wedding Dress: Elegant Brides- Edwardsville, IL Above are a few of our favorite photos from a 10-year anniversary session we had with Allison and Ryan. Ryan really wanted to do something special for their 10-year anniversary, and boy did he deliver. The night started out with dinner (Mexican-Allison’s favorite), music and dancing at the Majorette! in St. Louis (Maplewood area). It was such a beautiful site seeing their table, all alone, in the large space, like something out of the movies. We had a great time capturing pictures and video with them at this private venue. Next, we went to Pioneer Park in Des Peres, MO for another surprise for Allison. This park is very special because it's where these two met for the first time. When we arrived, Paul from Noteworthy Music, was already there, playing beautiful music on the violin. The couple had their own private concert, it was so romantic. We had a wonderful time capturing this wonderful evening for this cute couple. Thanks for letting us be a part of your special evening and congratulations!
Above are a few of our favorite photos from a rustic style wedding we shot in St. Charles, MO at Old Hickory Golf Club. It’s nice having the ceremony and reception are in the same location so we have more time for photos and video and less time on travel. We arrived well before the ceremony to get some of the “formals” out of the way since we did not have much time after the ceremony. This is a great idea if you do not have much time in between your ceremony and reception. It was an outside evening ceremony at 5 o’clock and the sun looked beautiful as it was setting over the golf course. Alex and Deion had a simple but lovely archway set up for the ceremony with 2 very large trees on each side. There was a young man sitting on a stool playing acoustic music as everyone walked in. They had a short and sweet ceremony where they recited their own vows, there was not a dry eye in the crowd. Everybody was ready to party for the reception and enjoy the A/C. They young man playing the acoustic music for the ceremony also DJed the reception and everyone loved the photobooth. We had an amazing time filming and photographing Alex and Deion’s wedding. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and love. Congratulations and Best Wishes! We met Maggie, Frank and their two fur babies at Fort Zumwalt South High School in St. Peters, MO. Maggie and Frank met at Fort Zumwalt in high school and nearly a decade later are getting married! These sessions are always great for getting to know our clients better and getting to know their style so we can take the prefect photos for their wedding day. We had a lot of fun with these two and cannot wait for their wedding day!
Above is a few of our favorite photos from the newborn session we had with little Morrison. We filmed his parents wedding and now we are lucky enough to photograph Morrison’s newborn session. His nursery is cutely decorated with an animal theme. He was such a good baby and slept through most of the photo shoot. We are so happy that we were able to capture this little cutie and to watch this family continue to grow. Congratulations guys and Best Wishes!
Above are a few of our favorite photos from a rustic/chic style wedding we shot in Swansea, IL. Rob and I started off the day with the girls getting hair and makeup done at Niki’s house, one of Kayla’s bridesmaids. Then we headed to the ceremony and reception location at Schranz Memorial park. The building inside the park was a cute barn like building. The ceremony was a beautiful, short, sweet, and a little windy. The park provided for some unique bride and groom formals. The playground looked like a Lego castle and since Matt has a collection of Legos, it was the perfect spot to grab a few shots. The reception was filled with laughter, tears, fun dance moves and a sparkler send off that put an end to the evening. We had an amazing time filming and photographing Kayla and Matt’s wedding. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and love. Congratulations and Best Wishes! #Togetherinharmony
Wedding Theme: Rustic/Chic Caterer: Shop n’ Save DJ: Boozer Entertainment Wedding Dress: Tide Buy Florist: Eco Florist Wedding planning: Self-planned (The bride) Above are a few of my favorite photos from a family and 1st birthday session we did on April 1st. We met Holly and her family at the Jewel Box in Forest Park. It was supposed to be a dreary day so Holly picked the Jewel Box so we could stay warm and dry. It was very busy inside, apparently, everyone had the same idea as us, but we were able to get all the shots we needed. As always, Holly and her family are perfectly color coordinated, with yellow and navy blue. This family is a perfect example of how to dress for family photos. We also had the pleasure of doing another session within the family session. Autumn is one years old now and we were so happy to be able to take her photos once again. We loved her cute dress and her cute pink bunny, that had her name embordered on the ear. She is a tough cookie to crack as we had a hard time getting her to smile. She sure is cute, even when she pouts. It was a great session, and we love seeing this family continue to grow.
Below is a few of my favorite photos from Jack's 3rd birthday session with us. We've had the pleasure of photographing Mr. Jack for his 2nd birthday last year. This little man has tons of energy and loves to play with beads. Some of these photos were done at the Blanchette Park, in St. Charles, MO, where we let Jack run some of his energy out. The other photos were taken at our studio in historic St. Charles, MO. Jack just became an other brother to his little brother Auggie, who only made it into a couple of photos. Thanks again for another fun session Carver family. See you all again next year! Above are a few of Sure Shot’s favorite photos from our most recent engagement session. We are so excited to start the new year off with this fun and easy-going couple. Courtney and Kris met us at the Lewis and Clark Boathouse in Historic St. Charles, MO. We started out there and then headed to Main Street to use the many cute buildings, structures and unique features this area has to offer. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had such a great time with Courtney and Kris. These sessions are always great for getting to know our clients better and getting to know their style so we can take the prefect photos for their wedding day.
Above are a few of my favorite photos from a wedding we shot in November. Brittany and Dan are great friends of Rob and I. When we found out they were getting married, we could not have been more excited for them. We had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session at their house, for a fun “life-style” session and we filmed and photographed their wedding. Rob and I started off the day with the girls getting hair and makeup done at Ameristar Hotel and Casino. Then we headed to Brittany and Dan’s home, where the boys were getting ready and the ceremony was to take place. These two had a short and sweet ceremony in the comfort of their own backyard. After formals with family we boarded the party bus for a drive to some of Brittany and Dan’s favorite locations. The first stop was the place these two first met, Steak N’ Shake. We snagged a couple photos of the sweet couple and then it was back to the bus for more crazy fun dancing and music. After a long and fun ride, we finally made it to downtown St. Louis. The couple wanted photos in front of Bush Stadium, where The Cardinals play, and The Scottrade Center, where the blues play. After a couple of pictures around the area and a couple of drinks at the bar, we boarded the bus again. We made one last stop before finally heading to the reception, Anheuser-Bush Brewery, for the Christmas lights they had set up. The lines were crazy long so we just took a couple of shots outside in the front of the iconic brewery. The party bus was so much fun and this wedding party could have ridden that bus all night. We finally made it to the reception at Trigg Banquet Center in O’Fallon, MO. The night was filled with laughter, tears and lots of fun. We had to get shots of the rings before calling it a night. We asked Dan to borrow his handkerchief to set the rings on for a nice background. The handkerchief was made from his grandmother’s wedding dress (the white) and the green shamrock was made from her bridesmaid’s dress. So, we were so happy to be able to get a shot of their wedding bands on Dan’s sentimental handkerchief made by his grandmother. To make along story short, we had an amazing time filming and photographing Dan and Brittany’s wedding. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and love. Congratulation and Best Wishes!
Wedding Theme: Casual Caterer: Trigg Banquet Center DJ: Jerry Wedding Dress: David’s Bridal Florist: Angie Jeffery Kate and Brandon came into our studio on a late Wednesday night and we knocked out this quick holiday session for their cute furry family. We photographed their wedding in October and we also had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session as well. Kate and Brandon’s puppies were so cute with their perfectly matching sweaters. We had a great time with them once again and can’t wait for the next time. Happy Holidays to all the furry families out there!
Above are a few of my favorite photos from an engagement session we had at Lost Hill Lake Events. We had a great time with Heather and Ryan and loved having the chance to get to know them both a little more. We even got to meet their dog, who loves to be right by Heather and Ryan’s side. We love that at Lost Hill we get a chance to have a private session with our clients since it is private property. Another great thing about this being a private property is that we do not have to worry about other people or cars getting in our shots. Every spot on the property is beautiful and unique. From their huge walnut trees in prefect rows to their fun lake complete with rope swings. We had a wonderful with these two and can’t wait to film and photograph their upcoming wedding in October!
Above are a few of my favorite photos from a senior photography session we had at Lost Hill Lake Events in St. Clair, MO. We were so excited when Sierra and her parents were willing to drive out to the fun and unique Lost Hill Lakes space in St. Clair, MO. This venue is a family farm turned into wedding venue space. They have beautiful antique doors to welcome you into the ceremony space. Then you see the rows and rows of perfectly in line trees which was one of my favorite things about this venue space. They have old farm trucks around to use for décor and posing. Beyond the ceremony space they have a lake and couple of rope swings. We had a really great time with Sierra during our session getting to know a little about her. I had a lot of fun trying to make her laugh😊 Thanks so much for a fantastic day and we look forward to working with you again someday!
Above are a few of my favorite photos from an engagement session we had at the beginning of November. We were so excited when Anne and Sergio told me they would like to have their session at The Missouri Botanical Gardens! We love it there and it could not have been a more perfect spot for these two. It was a lovely, warm fall day and we easily walked around the entire park getting photos and getting to know these two a little better. The gardens are filled with cute lights, amazing structures, and beautiful trees, flowers and plants. Sergio and Anne are such a fun and playful couple and anyone can see that in their photos. We had a great time photographing their engagement session and cannot wait for their wedding in July!
DeLisa and Luke are amazing clients and friends of Sure Shot. We had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session. Then we got to film and photograph their wedding. Now we had the pleasure of photographing their new bundles of fur additions, two cute little puppies. We met all of them on a beautiful fall day at Klondike Park in Augusta, MO. The fall trees looked amazing and the whole area is filled with breathtaking rocky bluffs. There are lots of lookout spots and nicely pave trails to walk. The last area we used is my favorite by far with a lake added to the amazing landscape. There you can see all the lake, the bluffs and the trees. We are so excited to be able to witness this couple’s love over the course of time and can’t wait to see this family continue to grow. Thanks guys for another great session!
Above are a few of my favorite moments from a wedding we had the pleasure of filming and photographing in October. We started out with the girls getting ready shots at a nearby hotel. One of my favorite touches from Amanda and Ryan’s wedding was Amanda’s “something blue.” She had a bright blue sash she used to bustle her dress and it really added a little pop to her dress. Their ceremony was at the beautiful Conservatory on Main Street in St. Charles, MO. Amanda was walked in by her Grandpa and it was such a wonderful moment. The couple did a hand fasting ceremony in leu of a unity candle. After the ceremony we met at the gazebo on main street and snapped a few photos with the couple and their fun wedding party. The guys showed off their superhero shirts they had under their suits and it really made for a fun shot. The reception was held at The Elks Lodge in Ladue. Ryan’s grandparents were the caterers and it was some the best food we had ever had! These high school sweethearts were super fun, easy going and a joy to work with. Thanks for allowing us to capture your special day and we look forward to working with you again someday. Best wishes!
Wedding Theme: Rustic Caterer: Ryan’s grandparents (home cooking) DJ: Dave (a friend) Wedding Dress: Wedding Gallery Above is a few of my favorite moments from Carrie and Jared's wedding on October 13th. There wedding was at the beautiful an unique The Mansion or The Grille at the Mansion in O'Fallon, IL. The Mansion is a restaurant during the week as well as a venue to rent for wedding and other special events. Carrie and Jared's color choice for the flowers and decor were very pretty and I loved the cute pumpkins and acorns everywhere. I also loved their "chalkboard style" sign for the ceremony in lieu of a ceremony program. Carrie and Jared are a prefect match and we were lucky enough to witness their love for each other as well as for their friends and family at their wedding. Thank you so much for allowing us to capture this special day for you and we look forward to working with you again someday.
Congratulations and Best Wishes! Above are a few of our favorite pictures from a family session we had on Main Street in St. Charles, MO. This area is filled with beautiful trees and neat looking walls to use for backgrounds. When we met the Medlock family, we could tell right away, that they are an easy-going family that love each other a lot. Thanks for a great session guys and we look forward to working with you again.
Above are a few of my favorite moments from Kate and Brandon’s wedding. Kate and Brandon had so many wonderful moments throughout their day. We met up with the girls early in the morning for hair and makeup at Leigh Mason Salon in St. Charles, MO. Next, we headed to the Whitmoor Country Club also in St. Charles for the ceremony and reception. It was nice to have everything in one location, it allowed us more time for pictures and who doesn’t love that, right? The ceremony was set up in front of the fireplace and was short and sweet. We had so much fun with Kate, Brandon and their wedding party during our “half time” photos before the reception. The reception was filled with laughter, dancing and a tear or two. With Kate’s mom singing a “I Hope You Dance” to Kate, it was hard not to cry. It was a great night and we had a great time with everyone. Congratulations guys! Until next time.

This park is filled with beautiful landscapes, unique structures, and a cute bridge. Carrie and Jared are a super cute couple and we loved their “usable prop”. The bottom of Jared’s shoes say “GAME OVER”. Jarred loves to play video games so this was the prefect prop. Thanks for a great session guys and looking forward to the wedding October 13th! Here are a few of my favorite photos from Megan’s senior pictures session in Historic St. Charles, MO. We had the pleasure of spending the day with both Megan and her mom Dawn. They both have great sense of humor which made it even more fun. We used some industrial style building and some of the beautiful old building Main Street has to offer. Megan is a very gorgeous girl who is very down-to-earth which made our job super easy and fun. Thanks so much for choosing us to photograph your senior pictures. #2018
When asked if we would like to get to get some promo shots of the band Concoction, we were so excited to say yes! We have had the pleasure of photographing ans filming these guys in the past but this was the first time we actually got to pose them:) below are a few of my favorites from their session at Leo's Pub in St. Charles, MO.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from Jack's 2 year session. Most of these were taking in St. Charles on historic Main Street and the rest were taking in our photography studio. Jack is such a sweet boy with lots of energy and we had a great time with him.
